Malika Noor Mehta is a second-year Ed.M. student in the Mental Health Counseling Program at the Teachers College, Columbia University. She earned a BA in Comparative Literature from Smith College in 2011, and a Masters in Public Policy (MPP) from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in 2017. Malika began her career in public service as a Teach for India (TFI) fellow in Mumbai where she taught 35 children from marginalized, urban communities. Malika has also worked as an entrepreneur in the mental health space, as well as a senior content manager at a mental health technology platform called InnerHour. Malika loves photography, dance and writing, and aspires to incorporate such creative elements into her practice eventually. Her clinical interests include psychoeducation, dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, person-centered therapy and group therapy.
